Home Learning Summer Term 2 Week 1

Hello 4L,

Your home learning this week is, once again, linked to our topic. We will soon discover how to put together a healthy, balanced meal – maybe some of you already have ideas on what types of food a healthy, balanced meal should contain.

In preparation for this, can you keep a food diary over two days? You can choose any two days you like. It might be interesting to compare a day at the weekend with a day in the week.

You need to write down everything you eat and drink from the moment you wake up until you go to sleep. Don’t forget to say how your food has been cooked – has it been boiled, fried, roasted etc.

Happy eating!

Enjoy your weekend, Love Miss Lynch 🙂

P.S. Don’t forget to keep reading your Bug Club allocations!

Mission Control to Year 4 Earthlings! Are you recieving?

Hello 4L!
As you know, we are on a mission to improve our use of our class blog (anything will be better than our terrible performance so far!) So let’s get started!
Your Home Learning for this Half Term Holiday has three different elements:

1.
Explore the ‘book-tastic’ Bug Club! www.bugclub.co.uk
Read a minimum of two books and complete the quiz for each book.
If you finish all of your allocated books, leave a comment on the blog and I will assign more.
Don’t forget to use your rewards as you read!

2.
Research and design your own fitness circuit training programme.
Your circuit will need to include 5 different exercises (try to find exercises that we haven’t used in school) and give the timings for each exercise.

3.
Design an advert to persuade people to try your circuit training programme.
How will you convince your audience that it will get them fit and keep them fit?
What language will you use? What images could you include? Can you add a rhetorical question?

Don’t forget to post a comment on our blog and tell the rest of us what you are up to during the holiday.

Have fun and be safe!
Love Miss Lynch

Home Learning Week 4

Home Learning

Week 4

Micro-organisms Hunt

Go on a micro-organisms hunt around your house.

Write a scientific report on what you find.

Where did you find them? Are they micro-organisms that are harmful or micro-organisms that are helpful?

Which type of micro-organism did you find – bacteria, virus or fungi?

Have fun! 🙂

Website of the Week

We will be moving on to exploring fractions next week. Watch the fractions videos at http://www.mathantics.com/ to help you understand fractions.

Don’t forget to read for 10 minutes every day and remember to learn your lines if you have a part in Dick Whittington!

Exploring History!

Exploring History!

We spent some time looking around the Medieval Gallery at the museum. We recognised some of the artefacts from our workshop. Can you remember what the mystery artefacts were? Make sure you tell your family and friends all about our visit.
I’m already looking forward to our visit to Hampton Court Palace! 🙂
